Agreement
By downloading or using Thingamajig, you agree to these terms and to any applicable Apple App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Thingamajig is
Thingamajig is a utility for saving visual information and short details you regularly need to retrieve, show, scan or copy. It can preserve images, display supported codes, and help you find saved Things quickly.
Thingamajig is not a payment wallet, identity credential, key, password manager, document archive, official pass issuer or replacement for the original provider’s app or document. It does not reproduce dynamic or rotating codes.
Using Thingamajig
You are responsible for the content you save and for checking that a displayed code, image or detail is accurate and accepted for your intended use. You must have the right to store and display that content.
Do not use Thingamajig to infringe another person’s rights, bypass access controls, misrepresent your identity or entitlement, break the law, or create a safety risk. You remain responsible for protecting access to your device and exported files.
Your content
You keep ownership of your content. You give Thingamajig only the permissions needed for the app and Apple’s platform services to store, process, display, export and synchronise the content at your direction.
Local export files can contain sensitive information. Once you share or move an export outside Thingamajig’s temporary protected storage, the destination’s security and terms apply.
Free use and Thingamajig Pro
The free version lets you save up to three Things. Thingamajig Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase that lets you create beyond that limit. Viewing, editing, exporting, restoring and deleting your existing Library remain available without an upgrade.
Apple processes purchases, refunds and Family Sharing. Prices and availability can vary by storefront. Your purchase is also governed by Apple’s applicable media services terms and refund process.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Thingamajig reliable, but no software, camera, scanner, network, cloud service or third-party code reader is perfect. Keep the original ticket, pass, credential or provider app where losing access would matter.
We may update, improve or discontinue features. We will not deliberately place an upgrade screen between you and a Thing you have already saved. Apple platform changes may affect system features such as widgets, iCloud, Siri, Shortcuts or Apple Watch.
Intellectual property
Thingamajig, its brand, artwork, software and website are protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not transfer ownership of the product or brand.
Warranties and liability
Thingamajig is provided with the level of care and skill required by applicable law. To the fullest extent the law permits, the app and website are otherwise provided “as is” and we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every scanner or third-party system will accept reproduced content.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss caused by misuse, or loss caused by services outside our reasonable control.
Ending use and changes to these terms
You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict use that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms where the platform allows. We may update these terms when the product or law changes; the effective date identifies the current version.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law that applies where the operator of Thingamajig is established, without removing any mandatory protections or right to bring a claim that the law where you live gives you.
